MEDITATION:
In an effort to enfold the mind and eventually the life in light, try any one of the suggested meditations on a daily basis. A simple 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the evening is a good way to start.
Always begin by settling the body into a quiet state. The easiest way to do this is to sit or lie in a comfortable position and begin to gently allow your breathing to become deeper and rhythmic. Simply get comfortable and listen to your breathing. If you set aside 5 minutes during which you will not do anything except this, you will find that with time, this exercise will have profound effects on your ability to concentrate.
1. Breathing gently and easily, focus your attention on your current - only at this moment - experience. Focus on allowing your body to become quiet, then allowing your mind to become quiet.
2. Now, focus your attention in your mind's eye, in your imagination, and picture a ball of golden light in the center of the room. With each breath in, you draw light into yourself. With each breath out, you allow any dark thoughts, any negative feelings to flow right out of you. After 5 minutes, (eventually this can become 30 minutes) return your focus to the place where you started. You will feel relaxed and very much alive.
